The Back Gate of Shadow Keep, Commander Gaius and the Scadutree Chalice, the Scadutree Avatar, then the O Mother altar, the Hinterland and the Finger Ruins of Dheo, the third bell under the Cathedral, and last the climb of the Jagged Peak.

Scaduview lies behind Shadow Keep, in three separate pieces: the north past Commander Gaius, the Hinterland behind a statue, and the Scadutree Base under the Church District. Expect to need a Scadutree Blessing of 12 or 13, as the bosses here are very hard. Both surface pieces start at the Shadow Keep, Back Gate grace. The section ends far to the south, with the climb of the Jagged Peak, once the Scadutree Chalice's fragments are spent.

Scaduview · Shadow Keep, Back Gate – From the Storehouse, Loft grace ride the lift north up to the rafters and work west along the beams and ladders, past the twin lifts, until two ladders take you down into a room. Leave by the northwest archway, ride the lift on your right and follow the scaffolding to a sealed door with a second lift beside it. That lift ends at the grace.

Scaduview · Rabbath's Rise – From the dead tree ride southeast past the rocks, down the narrow path, and keep dropping along the right-hand cliff until you can walk off on Torrent toward the balcony of Rabbath's Rise; save the mid-air jump in case you fall short. Go inside and step off the side of the small bridge, pressed against the wall, so that you land on the outer ledge below and not down the hole. The bearing is on the corpse there.

Scaduview · Fingerstone Hill – From the Fingerstone Hill grace ride down past the two swarms of hands, turn left at the hand in the ground, and find the coffin below the cliff. Due south of it, around a corner, a hole leads down: land on the ledge first, then drop into the big cave. The ashes are in the middle, and a giant hand rises as you near them, so grab them mounted and leave by the hole on the east side.

Stay on the right-hand cliff going downhill and ride at an angle so the Lampreys' spells miss you. At the center of the stone fingers get down from Torrent and sound the bell.

Buy from Ymir before his last talk

With both bells rung, go back to Ymir on his throne in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. Buy every sorcery he sells before you finish talking to him: Glintstone Nail, Glintstone Nails and Fleeting Microcosm. He leaves the throne after this talk, and his stock doesn't all come back.

Scadu Altus · Cathedral of Manus Metyr – Back at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr grace, walk through the gates to the throne. With the Dheo bell rung, Ymir has added this to his shop at 20,000 runes: buy it before you talk. If the throne is empty, look by the gravestone in the graveyard, or ring the last bell again to bring him back.
Why you can lose it
Ymir leaves the throne once he has handed you the third map, and his Bell Bearing may not bring this back.

You take the third Ruins Map from Count Ymir, and he leaves the throne.

Scaduview · Rabbath's Rise – With Swordhand of Night Jolán in your pack, fast travel to the Hinterland grace, ride up the ramp through Shaman Village to the dead tree, and go down the cliff ledges to the balcony of Rabbath's Rise again. Use Anna's puppet in the room inside and accept when it offers to join them. It swaps one ash for the other, and using it again swaps back.
Why you can lose it
It needs Jolán's ashes, and she gives those only for the Iris of Grace.

The Jagged Peak is the mountain at the far south of the Realm of Shadow, above the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion, and it closes this section. Spend your Scadutree Fragments, then fast travel to Dragon's Pit Terminus: the way up starts on the far side of the lake bed. You come back to the Altar at night, once the drakes are dead.

Ride it east and walk uphill into the canyon: the stone is on the floor, and slimes fall from the roof.

Before you go through: the Priestess has slept and woken, Igon's Furled Finger is in your inventory, and both duelling drakes are dead. For Bayle himself, advice runs to level 200 with at least 15 Scadutree Blessings, and this route has you near 14 by here, so spend every fragment you hold first.

About this guide

Expect about 230 hours over three runs, in a game where bosses take practice. This route uses no save backups. Run 1 collects everything in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree, and takes about 170 of those hours. NG+ (about 40) and NG++ (about 20) are shorter runs for the other two endings and the other quest branches, with tougher enemies and some bosses to beat again for remembrance trades. Random drops and free-choice NPC kills never count toward 100%.
