Through the seal, over the graveyard and the great wheel, up to the Red Wolf, across the rooftops, then Rennala, the Hold and the errand for Thops.

The Academy suits level 50 to 60 with a weapon at +4 to +6, or +2 to +3 on somber stones. Fast travel to the South Raya Lucaria Gate grace in Academy Gate Town to begin. Torrent still comes when called just past the seal, but he can't be summoned inside the Academy.

Take Yura's sign on this visit

Yura moves on later in the game, and his sign on the bridge goes with him. Accounts differ on the moment, and the earliest has him gone once you leave Liurnia for the plateau above it. That locks Yura: Ravenmount Assassin sign, Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin, and his prize, Ash of War: Raptor of the Mists.

Grace: Church of the CuckooArea
Location
Liurnia of the Lakes · Church of the Cuckoo – Back at the Main Academy Gate grace ride the lift beside it, cross the long walkway to a fountain, and kill the two Glintstone Sorcerers at the top of the stairs. Through their door is the altar room, where Marionette Soldiers fall from the ceiling: deal with the sorcerer by the altar first. Leave by the doorway on the left, turn left again, and the grace is at the end of that hall.

Go down the slope, cross the wooden bridge on your right, and at the far end turn left at once and drop off the ledge. The lower path bends round to two archers; kill them and search the body hanging at the edge.

Drop to it, kill the Putrid Corpses gathered at a statue, and take the glowing item. A narrow path on your right drops you back beside the doorway.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Academy monolith – Back up at the doorway, walk through the hall and ignore the huge rotating lift on your right for now. Keep straight on to the maiden statues and the monolith: an Alabaster Lord comes out of the small purple portal to the monolith's right as you get close.

Its gravity sorcery drags you in, so roll back at once if you are pulled.

Step off where a shelf of ground juts out partway. The ashes come from the graves there, held by two Avionette Soldiers and some Wandering Nobles.

Stay out of the statue's grip

An Abductor Virgin stands at the foot of the wheel. If its grab kills you, it carries you to a prison far ahead of this walk instead of sending you back to a grace. Fight it from range, out of the narrow path.

Go on up the steps to the rooftops, step right onto the thin ledge round the wall, climb the ladder and cross the runway to the tower; circle it to the left, drop to the roof below, drop again, and make a long running jump to the roof on your left. Follow the roofs left over one more gap to a ladder room with a Marionette Soldier hiding on each side, and climb to the top of the bell tower.

Make it again, but carry straight on over a second gap to the tower on your right, with an Avionette Soldier swooping in on the way. Jump to the roof ahead, head north to a dead end, then turn back to an arched window: it opens onto the ceiling beams of the Church of the Cuckoo. Walk the beams, step down to the upright beam below them and jump to the top of the chandelier, where a body holds the key.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Moongrum's garden – Fast travel to the Debate Parlor grace and cross the courtyard to the tall stairs on its east side, hugging the fence so the rolling iron balls miss you. At the top, the right-hand door of the three opens on a balcony with a sending gate away from the Academy, and the left is locked. Go straight on into the garden, where he attacks.

A hostile knight who parries when idle and heals with a flask. Keep up the pressure.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Moongrum's garden – From Moongrum's garden go through the south gate to a small balcony garden with a Glintstone Sorcerer and Wandering Nobles. Follow the east wall, jump the railing to a ledge and carry on into the alcove, then go up its ladder. A Lesser Mad Pumpkin Head and three sorcerers guard the chest in the room above; killing those sorcerers also stops the iron balls.

About this guide

Expect about 230 hours over three runs, in a game where bosses take practice. This route uses no save backups. Run 1 collects everything in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree, and takes about 170 of those hours. NG+ (about 40) and NG++ (about 20) are shorter runs for the other two endings and the other quest branches, with tougher enemies and some bosses to beat again for remembrance trades. Random drops and free-choice NPC kills never count toward 100%.
