Seluvis's last steps, Ranni's next step and the locks it brings, then the inverted hall and the Divine Tower of Liurnia.

This section suits level 70 and up. It opens with the last of Seluvis's steps and then the biggest lock in Liurnia, so read the warning before you climb Ranni's Rise.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Seluvis's Rise – Fast travel to the Ranni's Rise grace and ride southwest to Seluvis's tower. Talk to him on the ground floor until he raises his scheme, then hand over the Amber Starlight.

Seluvis can only take the Amber Starlight until the Fingerslayer Blade reaches Ranni.

Before you hand over the Fingerslayer Blade

Giving Ranni the blade ends the quest steps of both Preceptor Seluvis and Pidia for good, so finish these first: Seluvis's lab talk and free puppet, the second puppet, the Magic Scorpion Charm and the Amber Draught, and your first meeting with Pidia on the chapel balcony at Caria Manor. Their shop stock isn't lost: each one's Bell Bearing moves it to the Twin Maiden Husks. Keep the Amber Draught and never give it to Ranni.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Caria Manor – From Seluvis's Rise follow the cliffs above Caria Manor southwest until ledges lead down to a square stone building. Drop off its southwest edge to a wooden platform, then southeast to another, a stone battlement and a low roof with an open trapdoor. The ladder ends on the chapel balcony where Pidia worked: the puppet is there.

Free Alexander before Mt. Gelmir

Once you reach Mt. Gelmir he leaves this hole, and Alexander: Oil Pot south of Carian Study Hall goes with him. The route doesn't go there until much later, so do it on this trip.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Above Jarburg – Fast travel to the Artist's Shack grace in Liurnia and follow the path south. He calls out from a hole on the cliffs above Jarburg. Throw an Oil Pot at him, speak to him, then strike him until he pops loose.
Why you can lose it
Reaching Mt. Gelmir skips this step: he moves on to the lava there.
Point of no return
You reach Mt. Gelmir after the festival, and Alexander leaves the cliffs above Jarburg.

Location
Liurnia of the Lakes · Carian Study Hall – Fast travel to the Study Hall Entrance grace and set the statue on the pedestal by the Celestial Globe. A cutscene turns the hall over, and the pedestal can turn it back. Drop into the lift shaft onto the ledge around its walls and leave by the south window, where three Lesser Fingercreepers wait.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Carian Study Hall – Past the window walk toward the edge: she appears on a huge upside-down archway across the drop. Stay close to the wall as you approach, because she fires greatbow shots from range. At half health she teleports across the gap.

Liurnia of the Lakes · Renna's Rise – Fast travel to the Ranni's Rise grace and ride north to Renna's Rise, the northernmost tower. The handover lifts the seal on its door: if it is still there, rest at a grace, or come back later in her quest. Climb the ladders inside to the chest at the top.

About this guide

Expect about 230 hours over three runs, in a game where bosses take practice. This route uses no save backups. Run 1 collects everything in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree, and takes about 170 of those hours. NG+ (about 40) and NG++ (about 20) are shorter runs for the other two endings and the other quest branches, with tougher enemies and some bosses to beat again for remembrance trades. Random drops and free-choice NPC kills never count toward 100%.
