Miquella's Haligtree and Elphael

The canopy and town, the city at the tree's foot, the end of Millicent's quest and two hard bosses, then a last round of visits before the expansion opens.

This section suits level 120 and up. Bring at least two Stonesword Keys: Elphael has two imp seals at two keys each, and the canopy only gives you two. The Imprisoned Merchant in Mohgwyn Palace sells them.

On the branches

A knockback here means a long fall and a lost life, so treat every Oracle Envoy as a danger. Shoot them from range where you can, and raise your holy negation against their bubbles.

Miquella's Haligtree · Haligtree Canopy – From the Canopy grace pass the three Oracle Envoys along the branch's edge, drop east to the branch below and close on the large Envoy before he can swing. Follow that branch northeast, then drop southeast onto the wide one the Giant Ants patrol. Its southern tip holds a corpse hanging over the edge, with an even bigger Envoy beside it.

Go left and run past the flowers and homing bubbles to the Giant Oracle Envoy, then kill him. Turn around and climb the branch behind him, picking off the Envoys whose backs are to you: the ashes wait at its top.

Miquella's Haligtree · Haligtree Town – Back down the ladder, keep descending: through the building on the right, on down the steps and out by the hole in the wall. Take the ladder down past two Giant Poison Flowers, go up the ladder behind them and cut through the building on your left. A large Misbegotten guards a corpse at a statue outside, and two more jump you as you leave the doorway.

Miquella's Haligtree · Haligtree Town – From the Town grace head down the steps and through the building on the right to the hole in its wall. Go down the ladder past the two Giant Poison Flowers, up the next ladder and through the building to the statue with the large Misbegotten. Enter the building to its southwest and walk straight on over the bridge.

Still missing the Iron Greatsword?

The Misbegotten Warrior at the statue, just north of the Haligtree Town Plaza grace, can drop it, 4% a kill. It's the same drop as the pair in the capital, and the grace is close by for short runs.

Miquella's Haligtree · Haligtree Town – From the Plaza grace drop to the roof south of it, pass through the building below and kill the three Lesser Spirit-Caller Snails on the next rooftop. Jump from that roof's southeast tip to the far roof; if you fall short, ladders on the platform lead up to it. Then leap southwest to one more roof and look north: a room sits just below you, with the chest at its back.

Jump back to the platform below the roofs and take the ladder down on its east side. Head east through the short walkway, kill the two Misbegotten and go out the door on your left. Beyond the Battlemages at the gazebo, the right-hand bridge leads to a lift: ride it up to open the shortcut to the Town grace, the one the dead lever works.

Before the hill, take the doorway on your right and the ladder down.

Two signs at the lake

Your next rest puts two summon signs by the lake. This run takes the one that helps Millicent, and that side alone gives the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, her needle, Miquella's Needle and the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone at Malenia's flower. The red sign loses all of them for the run; its reward waits for your NG+ run. Her quest also closes Gowry's shop, so anything you skipped there now needs his bell bearing.

Shadow of the Erdtree opens now

Radahn and Mohg are dead, and that is all the expansion asks. Fast travel to the Cocoon of the Empyrean grace in Mohg's arena and touch the withered arm on the cocoon: the next section starts on the far side. The Fire Giant is still undone and stays that way for now, because this route leaves him and everything past him until the expansion is finished.

About this guide

Expect about 230 hours over three runs, in a game where bosses take practice. This route uses no save backups. Run 1 collects everything in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree, and takes about 170 of those hours. NG+ (about 40) and NG++ (about 20) are shorter runs for the other two endings and the other quest branches, with tougher enemies and some bosses to beat again for remembrance trades. Random drops and free-choice NPC kills never count toward 100%.
